Improvements in Progress: Paving the Way for an Even Better Retreat Experience

by | Jul 7, 2025

Like the Michigan roads, Maryville Retreat Center is undergoing some much-needed upgrades—and we’re excited to share what’s in store.

As summer moves forward, so does our construction. You may notice some minor disruptions, but all for a better guest experience in the future. This summer and fall, work begins on a new main center parking lot that will be fully accessible. The upgraded paving will also improve winter safety, helping to prevent ice and snow buildup. In addition, we’re creating a new turnaround drive with improved access to our lodges. Guests will enjoy more convenient drop-off zones and additional accessible parking near the lodges for luggage and meeting supplies.

The parking lot upgrades will continue through fall, with final enhancements expected to be completed by late spring 2026.

We’re also thrilled to announce that both the St. Felix and St. Joseph Lodges will undergo renovations this fall and winter. These updates will bring a more modern, comfortable atmosphere to your retreat experience. In addition to cosmetic updates, every room in both lodges will be fully refurnished.

And there’s more—renovations begin this month on our Multipurpose Center. This space will expand to support a wider range of programming, including additional meeting areas, breakout spaces, workshops, weddings, conferences, and other special events.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of our Felician Sisters, Maryville continues to grow in mission and ministry, creating a space where spiritual renewal is possible for all who visit.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon for a refreshed, reimagined retreat experience.
