How do I reserve space for a retreat at Maryville Retreat Center?

Who can use your retreat center? Do you only accept Catholic groups?

Maryville Retreat Center welcomes groups of all faiths and backgrounds. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests.

Is there a minimum number of guests required to hold a retreat?

No, there is not a minimum.  Whether you are planning a small, intimate gathering or a large group event, we are here to accommodate your needs and ensure a meaningful retreat experience.

Is the facility handicapped accessible?

The main building of Maryville Retreat Center is handicapped accessible, featuring meeting and dining spaces and lift access to the second floor. The Center offers one fully accessible overnight room. Handicapped parking and a designated handicapped entrance are also available.

How many people can your facility accommodate?

Maryville Retreat Center can accommodate 95 guests. Please contact us for specific room capacities.

How early (or late) may I check in?

 Standard check-in is 4 p.m. The Maryville staff strives to accommodate early check-ins upon request. The doors to our main building are locked at 10 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m.

If you are planning to enter or leave the building outside of these hours, please ensure you have a group leader’s phone number to re-enter.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept credit cards and checks. Please contact us for additional details. 

What are your refund/cancellation policies?

Deposits are non-refundable. We will transfer deposits if cancellations are made prior to 3 months of the event. Refunds/Credits are not given for late arrivals, early departures, late cancellations or no shows.

Do we need to provide insurance for my retreat or event?

Yes. Your organization will need to purchase a comprehensive general liability insurance and automobile insurance policy that is in effect during the time of the retreat in the amount of One Million Dollars (1,000,000.00). Maryville Retreat Center, Felician Sisters of North America and Felician Sisters of North America Real Estate Trust will need to be named as additional insured on the policies.  The Group will need to provide a certificate of insurance prior to the beginning of the retreat. 

Does Maryville Retreat Center provide towels, linens and hairdryers?

Yes, Maryville Retreat Center provides fresh linens, towels, soap/shampoo/conditioner and hairdryers.

What should I know about parking?

Free parking is available for all guests. Our staff will provide directions and parking information upon booking.

What kind of clothing should I bring?

Comfortable and casual clothing is recommended. Modest attire is appreciated for those attending spiritual services. Check the weather forecast to pack accordingly. 

Is your property pet-friendly?

Pets are not permitted at Maryville without prior approval from management.

All service animals are welcome at Maryville. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog or other animal that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the animal must be directly related to the disability. Management may ask for documentation for service animals on campus. Emotional support animals are not covered under this order so therefore are not permitted at Maryville.

Any damage caused by pets is subject to a fee.

What is Maryville Retreat Center’s smoking policy?

All Maryville Retreat Center buildings and public areas are to remain free of all smoking, vaping, and illegal drugs. Ask staff where the designated smoking/vaping areas are on campus.

What is your closest airport? Do you provide a shuttle service?

The closest major airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, which is a one-hour drive away. Bishop International Airport in Flint is 30 minutes away. We do not offer a shuttle service.

Can I stay at your property if I’m not participating in a retreat?

Our primary focus is hosting retreats and events, but please contact us to inquire about individual accommodations.

Do you offer gift certificates?

No, we are not offering gift certificates at this time.

Can we take a tour before we schedule a retreat?

Yes, tours can be arranged by contacting Info@MaryvilleRetreatCenter.org. We encourage you to visit and see our facilities before booking.

Will I have my own bedroom and bathroom?

Accommodations vary, with options for private bathrooms. Please inquire about specific arrangements when booking.

Do you have a grounds map?

Yes, a grounds map is available to help you navigate our property. It will be provided upon arrival or can be requested in advance.

What dining options are available at Maryville Retreat Center?

Maryville Retreat Center offers community-style, buffet dining served in our shared dining space — an experience designed to encourage connection and fellowship among guests. Meals are customized to each group based on individual needs.

We are able to support vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and vegan dietary options if known to us prior to retreatant arrival. We are happy to accommodate these dietary restrictions upon request. Dietary information is collected prior to your stay through an electronic questionnaire.

For day retreats or rental events, catering options may be arranged separately. Contact us to discuss the options that best fit your group.

Some retreats are fully guided, with a spiritual director or facilitator leading reflections, discussions, and activities. Others are self-directed, allowing guests to move through the grounds and schedule at their own pace.

Silent retreats include periods of intentional quiet, while group retreats often blend a mix of shared discussion, prayer, and personal reflection time. We work with each group to create a structure that honors its goals.

When are on-site staff available during my retreat?

Maryville Retreat Center staff are available on-site daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM throughout your retreat.
