Join us at Maryville Retreat Center on Wednesday, March 19, from 4–7 p.m. for a heartfelt celebration of the St. Joseph Table. This cherished tradition blends faith, community, and charity as we honor St. Joseph—the patron of workers, families and the Church.
The History of the St. Joseph Table
The St. Joseph Table has its roots in Sicilian history and faith. Centuries ago, during a severe drought and famine, the people of Sicily turned to St. Joseph in prayer, asking for his intercession. Their prayers were answered, and in gratitude, they prepared tables overflowing with food to share with those in need.
Today, the St. Joseph Table remains a symbol of gratitude, generosity, and faith. It is often adorned with ornate bread creations, pastries, and other foods that represent the abundance of blessings and the enduring hope that St. Joseph inspires.
